The Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) announced today that their 2010-2011 Prep Team will participate in the 2010 Junior Bruins Shootout tournament.
Celebrating its tenth year, the tournament is held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts, a 40-minute drive from the city of Boston. The event takes place September 24-26 and is hosted by the Boston Junior Bruins.
“The tournament will be great for our guys,” said Rob Dirk, Head Coach for the OHA Prep Team. “The competition should be very good and it’ll give our players the opportunity to check out some great NCAA Universities.”
OHS Director of Operations Kevin Goodwin agreed that the exposure to Massachusetts schools will be a unique opportunity to the Prep Team players.
“The Boston area is home to some of the most prestigious Colleges and Universities in the world. We’ll have the opportunity to do some tours of high-end schools that our players wouldn’t normally get to see, including Harvard and Boston University.“
OHA Prep Team will play within the U19 division of the tournament. Within the division, each team will play a total of three round robin games and then the winners of each division will cross over to the playoff round on Sunday.
